I am an attorney in Flint, Michigan, in Genesee County. I have twenty five years of legal experience, in a variety of areas of expertise. One of them is the family law area. If this page (and the ones that follow) can be of some assistance to you, we will have succeeded in providing a little education, and I won't have to spend time on the telephone doing it. I hate the telephone some days, but don't we all? It's a necessary evil. I also hate going to court some days (I have a dog named Judge: "Be seated, Judge; All rise, Judge"; you get the idea...) but that is based upon occasional boredom, from doing the same subject matter over and over (Would you like to be a divorce lawyer? Really?). There are other days that I spend going to court, and I really enjoy it: my staff and I have made a difference in someone's life, and we can go home at the end of the day and be proud of the job we have done, proud of the legal system, etc., and those days outnumber, by far, the other ones. For the most part, the family law system WORKS. Judges jail deadbeats, and visitation withholders, every week. Most child support is collected, and paid out promptly. But when these family law issues are facing YOU, you need to be properly prepared, properly informed, and able to assist your counsel in presenting your case accurately.
